I'm currently using Opera 53.0 for Linux.

I want to utilize the VPN, but I notice that it times out when I access slow web sites. Is there a way to increase the VPN timeout duration?

For example, let's say that I'm accessing a slow web site at the address "http://slow.site.com/page.html". If I do not use the VPN, I enter this URL into the address bar, and after a long time (at least 30 seconds), the site will eventually display in Opera.

However, if I turn on the VPN and I enter the same "http://slow.site.com/page.html" URL into Opera's address bar, Opera times out after around 15 seconds with the message, "This page isn't working."

I've never gotten that error message in Opera if I turn the VPN off, even if the page takes a very long time to load.

Furthermore, when using the VPN, Opera has no problem displaying sites that take less than 15 seconds to load.

This proves that the timeout is being enfored by Opera's VPN software. Is there any way in Opera to increase the timeout period when the VPN is in use?

      Thank you in advance.

          Oh well (sigh).

I guess I'll have to make use of some alternative to Opera's VPN.

          Thank you.
