Dependencies for unix

This must be directed to the techs. When trying to install latest version(51) Opera , I receive error report stating that certain dependencies are not met. Would you explain what those dependencies are/what dependencies Opera 51 needs.

Would you tell them what distro and version you are using? I've seen a post here that *buntu 18.04 has updated to libcurl4 while Opera still lists libcurl3; on the other hand a user with 10.04 couldn't find a requested font - obviously how old your system is will make a difference. (No, I'm not a tech, but they are not mind readers either.)

Hello budy.
Quoting Brian Murray at https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/curl/+bug/1754294 referring to the problem of libcurl4 on Ubuntu 18.04 Bionic Beaver
"None of the packages which you are having an issue with are from the official Ubuntu archive, then there is nothing we (the developers of Ubuntu) can do about this. You'll need to take up the issue with the people who develop these packages. "
I made a very heavy and sarcastic remark.
Unfortunately the developers of Opera now have one more problem that is to incorporate the code of libcurl in the browser code itself to avoid problems like this and will even resolve dependency conflicts also in other versions of Ubuntu and other distributions of GNU / Linux .
If you thought it was just Microsoft and Apple making arbitrary decisions without consulting the other developer companies ..... -

Is it that complicated to use a slightly different build process in order to comply with distribution (at least LTS releases) dependancies?
Branch Ubuntu/Bionic built against libs included there (incl. libcurl4)
Branch Ubuntu/Trusty built against libs included there (incl. libcurl3)
And reflecting that in the hierarchical repository as most other PPAs do well like GIMP or Darktable
http://ppa.launchpad.net/otto-kesselgulasch/gimp/ubuntu/dists/
http://ppa.launchpad.net/pmjdebruijn/darktable-unstable/ubuntu/Yes that's a bit more effort, but would solve all these issues
