Have now got used to being ignored by Opera staff. What a shame as it was a good browser which seemed to be responsive to its users. Badly disappointed as Opera still have not commented and it shakes my confidence in how Opera will continue to have the confidence of its users.

Using win 10, 64 bit & Opera 50.0.2762.58 (PGO).
I'm located in TX and I have set the VPN location to the Americas. It connects alright. So far, so good.
However, when I access US websites (e.g Huffport or NYT, etc., I see ads in all kinds of languages. Some in Norwegian, some in Swedish, some in French, every now and then I see one in Russian.
When I'm on Amazon, trying to order an item, I get messages that this item cannot be shipped to Sweden or Norway, etc.
Doesn't look like VPN has been fixed, or is it just me?

@esebm
No it's not just you. You could also try updating to 50.0.2762.67 and see if that helps. Not hopeful though.

VPN seems slow again....
that's because those that think the vpn improved were and are imagining things.

@haba Same thing happened to me. It was the anti-virus software on my computer. Try disabling it and then try VPN again.

There was a problem with MalwareBytes yesterday but that is a malware program not an anti virus program. If it was MalwareBytes causing you a problem just open it and update it several times manually

Just don't set Google servers 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.8.4 as your primary and secondary DNS servers on your router. Use the DNS servers provided by your internet service provider(only if it is not Google!) and you have normal Opera VPN.

When Americas is selected and Opera VPN provides an USA VPN tunnel, still Google services will lead over Ukraine. e.g. Google.com.ua and even youtube.com want to show you Ukraine content. So any issue in your VPN is likely being caused by this Google internet infection.

omg you people really need to put down the crack pipes, none of what you've mentioned changes how the vpn works. it is a opera and only a opera problem.

When I enable the VPN, I lose the ability to access the Internet. Are other people experiencing this?

It is working in North America at the moment but had been sub par off and on earlier.
From here it is routing via Eu. Lots of heavy traffic today due to SuperBowl related streaming. -
