Opera does not open links in new tab

@avl
Of course. I use MacBook Air (13-inch, Mid 2011), 1,7 GHz Intel Core i5 4 GB 1333 MHz DDR3 Intel HD Graphics 3000 384 MB OS X Yosemite 10.10.5
The only thing that helps to finally load the pages is to restart Opera. Refreshing the page does not help at all. If you need any other info or some log files perhaps - tell me, I'll provide anything if it helps to solve the problem. It happens really all the time and prevents normal work. I've been with Opera for over 10 years and I do not want to change it to any other browser. -

The weirdest thing about this problem is the fact that sometimes the link in new tab just results in a blank page, but sometimes the new tab displays the content of any random other tab currently open in the browser.

Same thing happening here - late 2011 Macbook Pro, MacOS 10.12.4. Try to play embedded Youtube videos doesn't work at all. Clicking to open in a new window - same deal. Copy and paste the URL into a new tab - works! Several sites that open links in a new window load as a white page. No errors. I can open dev tools and see the assets loading, yet the page shows white.
Just started using Opera a couple of weeks ago so I don't really have any addons or anything installed. Not using VPN or turbo.
I saw something similar in Chrome starting late last year. It had to do with whitelisting GPUs and it affected older Macbook Pros.

Due to my work I often deal with links containing UTM tags. May the presense of UTMs in the address of the link affect the problem?

@avl I've also found one interesting peculiarity: when this problem happens to a page (I Command - click on a link and the page in the hew tab is blank), in case I right-click on this same link and select "Open in new tab" in the context menu, the page in new tab loads OK. So I do not think it has to do with memory at all. It's just some bug. Technically nothing interferes with opening a new Tab, but it just does not work properly

We've found the cause of this issue and hopefully we can release a fix soon. When you have this problem, try doing this as a workaround:
- Enable the Developer menu if you haven't yet (View -> Show Developer Menu)
- Click Developer -> Task Manager
- Select "GPU process" and click "End Process"
This should bring back the blank tabs.

@laoshe the next stable update of Opera will include the fix. If you're really curious, http://www.opera.com/blogs/desktop/ has full changelogs for every release and will have a post when the next version is released.

I'm having the same problem (sent email weeks ago). Mac is MBP (2009) 2.8ghz core 2 duo 8MB
tabs open under existing tab and URL of existing tab stays the same but the page displays content from the original page - not the tab-opened page. clearing cache works for a day or so. -
