How to unsync iPad and computer

Using Opera browser but I have not signed in on the Mac to sync .
When the ipad is open and Safari is open (on the iPad), I get a small Opera icon in the upper left corner of the computer screen signifying some sort of syncing.
I have deleted Opera from the iPad.
How to stop this?Thank you.

It seems this issue was solved when I turned off the "hand off" feature on the iPad.

Yes, this is Hand Off, a macOS / iOS feature that allows you to open any page open on your iPad using the default browser on your Mac. There's no synchronization taking place, it just opens the active page on your iPad when you click the icon. It showed the Opera icon because Opera was the default browser on your Mac.
