Hei fellas,
recently I reinstalled my Mint 17 on another machine and restored /home, /opt and some (not opera related me thinks) files from etc. Reinstalled Opera 30.x from a downloaded .deb
During start of opera I got "not enough rights on settings... folder". No big deal I thought - removed completely - removed ~/.opera, too.
Same message after new install - complete removal (.opera, and opera from .config/.cache)
Same message again! Searched for opera on disk - but no more occurences.Where/what to check? I'd like to use Opera again! Any ideas/hints to do for me?

It should work even without enough rights, so go to the menu and look for About Opera. The screen displayed will list your profile (the settings folder).
If you copied /home, are you sure they are owned by your current user? Possibly the number associated with you was changed. Alternatively, if you restored files from a CD or DVD, they might be listed as read-only. Make sure you're the owner, and that you have correct rights to create and write to the profile directory.
