don't know if you still having the issue but I made a script that automatically deletes the opera splash screen whenever you open the app from the windows taskbar or windows start menu

since it deletes the opera_gx_splash file when opening the browser you don't need to disable updates or delete the splash file manually.

I have been testing it for a while and it's been working without issues for me so far

Update- logged on today, opened Opera GX and the screeching demon is gone! Thank you, Opera GX for responding so quickly! For the peace of the kingdom!

The last thing I need to hear is Andre shrieking every time I start up Opera GX. Until the update where this stupid thing started I never used to get the startup every time I opened OGX...just the first time. Now I I can't close the window without having to hear that garbage upon opening it again. It's almost as if the intent was to irritate users because it. Is. obnoxious. I hate it. It actually pisses me off every time it happens.
