Update---i am so frustrated that I am at the point of deleting Opera from everything and calling it quits. However I have one more piece of information that might be useful to someone else who is trouble shooting. Opera Support has never responded.

1-I deleted all speed dials and bookmarks from the Opera Browser and the new phone. (I do not save Passwords)
So effectively all the bookmarks and speed dials I want are on the old phone.
All devices are logged into Opera account.
All have Sync On
Nothing HAPPENS.

2- I tried to Connect Devices with the two phones.
Connection fails every time.

3- I tried to Connect Device with each device to Opera Browser through Flow
I am logged into Opera Browser and once the connection is made.
It automatically drops the connection.
Uninstalled Opera Browser (used Revo Uninstaller to get all the "bits) and reinstalled.

4- I have tried going to opera.com/Connect and using the QR code that shows up on the browser to the New Phone The connection works. I disconnect the New Phone (Remember Browser & New Phone do not have any bookmarks)

5- Attempt to connect Old Phone to Browser. I have to completely shut down Browser and turn off the New Phone otherwise an attempted connection to the Old Phone gives me a message that the browser is already busy with a connected device.

I seem to get a connected with the Browser & Old Phone using opera.com/connect. (The Old Phone shows up in the My Flow window) However nothing happens. The Browser bookmarks window (heart icon) does not even show the New Phone in the list on the browser. Yes Sync On is showing and the Old Phone is logged into Opera account.

The old way of transferring bookmarks was sooooo much simpler. Heck I'd even be happy for an Import/Export file that I could put on my SIM card.

Maybe it is a definition thing but when I think of synchronization, I think that two devices have the same content on them. I want to actually transfer all my bookmarks from one Android phone to another. Then the other phone will be factory reset.

Currently I log into my Opera account on both phones and under my account name on each phone it says "Sync On" but nothing happens.

I have then scrolled down to Sync and backup and connected the two devices through the QR code, all the slider buttons but Passwords are blue, and still nothing happens. (I don't care about Passwords since I don't save them)

Is there a "Sync Now" button I have to press after setting up the connection between the two phones? Is there a tutorial out there for this? This seems rather difficult for what should be a fairly simple action. I really do not want to lose several years of bookmarks.

I have tried now for hours and cannot get it to work. I have Opera on one Android phone and am moving over to another Android phone before the first one fails.

I have Opera loaded on each phone.
I have signed in to Opera on both phones
Sync is ON for both phones
Nothing shows up in my new phone at all.

How do I get my bookmarks (that all I really want) from one phone to another.
I apologize if this is basic but the last time I did this was several years ago and it did not seem so difficult.

Thank you very much for replying.

At the page that came up, there was Not a Request Sync but rather a Request Start, which I presumed is what you meant as it is right next to a Disable Sync button. I clicked Request Start and still nothing has happened. Each time I click Request Start, the Last Synced entry under Local State changes the time but nothing else happens. Certainly there are no sync/transfers etc to my new phone.

I even tried Disable Sync then turned it back on and still nothing.

This is frustrating. Sync/transfer/download of my bookmarks worked quickly and seamlessly a few years ago when I had to reload Opera to a new phone back then.

Hi. No when I go to my new phone there is absolutely nothing under Bookmarks. When I check the Opera Browser on my desktop, which I use seldom, the bookmarks there are old and have not been updated. The old phone's bookmarks, which I want on my new phone, are there and not changed.

There were no Speed Dials on my new phone (I deleted the standard ones that come with it) and I deleted the ones on the desktop Opera Browser and they are still both blank.

All devices are logged into the Opera account and the phones say "Sync On".

So I tried loading Opera Mini on my Old Phone (the one I want the bookmarks from) and logged into the Opera account. It syncs to Opera Browser and shows the default speed dials there.

I have tried numerous times to connect my Old Phone, which is running Opera for Android to Opera Browser via the method in your last posting to no avail. Even if it does appear to connect, none of the bookmarks on the Old Phone show up in Bookmarks and the Old Phone's Opera for Android itself does not even show up in the list .

From all of this testing it appears that there is some problem with the Opera for Android on my Old Phone (Moto G Power 2022) and it will not sync even if it is logged into the Opera account or Connected via a QR code. And of course this is the phone and the version that houses all my bookmarks!
