Same here. Just updated to the latest Opera 24 stable and reinstalled flash and everything. Still happens.

My most recent alert was from tunein.com when I was trying to play a stream. I forgot other sites which the alert pops-up to as well.

It happens on my Windows 8.1 too but I haven't encountered the alert after I updated that one to 24 Stable. I'll try to monitor it though.

It seems the cause are the Speed Dial extensions namely Opera's Facebook and Twitter Notification extensions. Looks like they use a lot of CPU/GPU.

I noticed that most of the time, Opera Stable 23.0.1522.77 uses too much CPU even on idle. My temps keeps skyrocketing over 100 degrees with high fan usage. I checked the Opera task manager and "GPU process:" keeps using the CPU even on just the startpage and not doing anything. Other times it's fine. Ending the process fixes it but when I restart the browser it's at it again. When checking Activity Monitor, Opera Helper uses more CPU than others. I haven't encountered this on Opera Next. That said, I still have not tested Next on Mac that much too see.
Any ideas?

I've been using Opera for Mac (latest version) for a while now and I noticed when I unplug my (fairly new) MacBook Pro while using Opera, my battery life time remaining goes down to 5-6 hours. I checked in Activity Monitor and the Energy Impact is 40-50 idle/light browsing and reaches about 90 when doing intensive activities like streaming or loading applets or flash. When I use other browsers the time remaining is about 9-10 or even 11 hours and the energy impact is 10 more or less at idle and 20-30 while browsing.
Anybody else notice this? Any help would be much appreciated.
