The only solution I've found was to 1) exit Opera 2) delete the History file in the profile folder 3) restart Opera
Since then History works again.
I can only assume that somehow the history file became corrupted, it didn't have actual entries inside before deleting (checked with a hex viewer).
Just checking in - same here for me, history is not saved at all...

Came here just to say how annoying it is with the new Opera One look... Now both the tab bar and the sidebar has wide paddings, which is wasting the screen estate, and also tabs need precise clicks.
Respectively Disable tab bar's top spacing when browser window is maximized setting is no longer working.
