Thanks for the suggestion on YASD. I installed it but can't get it to work at all. When I click on extension icon in the menu bar nothing happens. WhenI click on the New Tab + it still displays Opera's speed dial. I can't find a solution for this in my internet searches.

RE: FVD Speed Dial - New Tab PageOpera add-ons
Opera opens to its basic Speed Dial and it seems that can't be changed, but install the extension and pin it to the browser toolbar, train yourself to click it and close Opera's Speed Dial tab upon starting. I love the features and it's very customizable.

@leocg I had tried both paths shown on the about page and neither worked

@leocg Thanks again. Yes, there are hidden folders that we looked at and could not find it. This was with 2nd tier Apple Support staff. Hopefully there is a Mac user that can help out with this question so I can slap my forehead sooner

@leocg Thanks. The problem with many of the posts was that they referred to the Opera Profile but did not say where to find it.
I've spent hours trying to answer my question without bothering others, but I gave up.
My bad, I knew that that's where they were already. I should have asked instead where to find the bookmark file in Opera profile directory. From your reply, I finally found the "Opera's profile directory" page under the Opera>About Opera menu.
But I copy the paths shown (profile and cache) and no results come up on any disk I search, internal and my external backup disk. I even tried searching just the last segment of the path, com.operasoftware.opera, and nothing is found. Apparently I don't have the right path or filenames, or somehow the old bookmarks have disappeared, even from my backups.
I just spent 1.25 hrs on the phone with Apple Support and they could not find those paths either. They suggested I get back to you. I bet it's going to be an easy fix and I am going to slap my forehead when I find out.
I appreciate your volunteer help. I've loved my Opera browser for years and that there is a community that supports it. -
[Duplicated]Where can I recover bookmarks from backup disk?Opera for Mac
Hello. I had to reinstall my MacOS (on Ventura now), but could not use the Migration Assistant so I had to manually bring over much. The Opera browser installed but the Bookmarks are missing.
I have my backup on an external disk, using Time Machine, but I cannot find where the bookmarks are so I can import them.
Once I find them what is the process for restoring them?
Thanks in advance.
