Isn't this the way google images behaves normaly?
My desktop version does the same.
To open only the image, press long on the picture you want and select "open image" from the pop-up menu.
Word of warning: be aware of the constant data compression opera mini uses. The quality won't be the best!

The problem still persists. I deleted the browser and downloaded it again. Now, there is one more problem. It takes too long to open and load. Please, fix it.

Location of the "update" button on the top of the screen is inconvinient. "Home screen" button is useless. It would be better to move "update" button to the bottom of the screen.
