After 2 more resets and pressing some buttons on opera://sync-internals I've got my passwords synchronizing.
Unfortunately, it wasn't the end of it, because when I tried to sync my Android phone to that - it said it can't sync anything until data is purged once more.
Oh well, so I pressed the reset on my phone. Now passwords are back to not syncing on the PC. Except, now it's stuck even earlier:
Confirm your identity to enable encryption
I press it on the settings page - it shows me a textbox for my password.
If I try to enter it while Cloudflare Warp is on - it immediately signs me out of my opera account and turns this tab into an infinite sign-in loop.
Ugh, ok, I restart again, this type without Cloudflare Warp. Now when I enter my password to confirm my identity - the tab just closes with no diagnostics. And I'm back to the settings page, which still wants me to confirm my identity.
Meanwhile opera://sync-internals displays an error without a message in the passwords row:
Error: GenerateCryptoErrorsForTypes@components\sync\service\data_type_manager_impl.cc:36, cryptographer error was encountered:As well as
User Actionable Error: Needs passphraseOn the left
Waiting for it to maybe fix itself I tried to look around phone settings. In particular, I thought maybe I would have more luck using a custom passphrase instead of Opera credentials.
So I press in sync button. Press "Encryption" and "Use a passphrase". I enter and confirm it. Now I'm back to sync settings. If I now press "Encryption" again - I see it switched right back to "Use Opera credentials".
Does this process have to be such a minefield? And it's been almost a day since I've posted, is there even any staff on this forum?
