It depends on the job you want done. . . and what you consider to be "well".

RE: Why has Opera 17 become Chorme/Firefox?Opera for Windows
That's not the correct function as it only lets me set how to deal with future cookies.
However, I did find the feature that lets me delete specific cookies. . . it's the button next to that one.
Now, if someone would tell me how to increase the amount of time before the browser declares a timeout, I'd be very grateful.

My main reason for abandoning firefox all those years ago, was that you needed too many extensions to have what I considered to be basic features. And because each extension is developed independently, when combined with the browsers core functions, they tended to hog too much RAM and processor power.
I don't want to go back to that.
Not for something as basic as being able to delete a specific site's cookies, or setting up a proxy server in opera alone. Or extend the amount of time before a page times out.
I feel like I've gone from an SLR to a point-and-shoot camera.

RE: Why would you destroy Opera?Opera for Windows
I'm one of those who doesn't much like the new Opera - but I hope it's a stepping stone to a much better product.
Well, I hope to see some of the features I like back in Opera soon.
I'd like to be able to delete specific cookies, and set up proxies without it affecting all the browsers I might use.I guess the lack of having proper "settings" is the one thing I miss. . . and I hope they bring that back soon.
I'll keep an eye on the notes for new releases and see when it's back to being something I can use as a main browser again.

Alienating and turning your back on a generation of sophisticated Opera Browser users to satisfy an unknown element of basic internet users who may as well just use Chrome in the first place and probably will due to it's higher profile, will not be good for Opera in the long term
This is so true. Gone are the little tweaks we could make in the settings. Now we're left with very basic function.
It's like I've swapped an SLR for a point-and-shoot camera.I wanted to delete cookies for a particular site. . . but I can't. it's all or nothing.
Opera isn't Opera anymore and the love affair is over. I'm moving back to Firefox.
