Uninstalled Opera, then installed it for all users -> as a result Opera checking for updates with no problems 
Initially it was installed for the current user only causing strange problem with updating.

When I check for Opera update, it searches endlessly.
I had this issue from the very moment I installed Opera for the first time (09 feb 2020).
Installed for the current user only.
