As the title says, Opera closes the whole window instead of the current tab. It has been happenning randomly since yesterday.

The last few months, the amount of websites not working on Opera has been increasing. Being a UI/UX designer, I usually browse a lot of new stuff on Awwwards, for example, and here are some of the recent websites with issues:

https://www.ensembliers.com
https://watson.la

Here are just a few of them. Switching to Chrome usually does the job, but I'm a bit worried about the evolution of Opera, regarding other bugs happening too often and not being solved.

I’ve been experiencing several issues when using Microsoft Teams in the browser with Opera GX, and I’d like to know if others are experiencing the same problems or if there are any known fixes.

My setup:

• macOS Tahoe 26.6.2
• Opera GX 135.0.5973.94 (latest version)
• OBSBOT camera/microphone, managed through OBSBOT Center
• Microsoft Teams used directly in the browser

Issues during Teams calls

• Poor audio isolation: Teams picks up virtually every keystroke from my keyboard. Even with noise suppression enabled in OBSBOT Center, the keyboard noise remains very noticeable.
• Blurry camera feed: The camera image is noticeably softer/blurrer than expected.
• Very blurry screen sharing: Shared screens are heavily compressed and pixelated, making text difficult to read.

I just tested the exact same Teams call in Google Chrome, using the same Mac, camera, microphone and settings.None of these issues occur in Chrome. The audio isolation works properly, the camera image is sharp, and screen sharing is clear.

So this doesn't appear to be a hardware, OBSBOT or macOS configuration issue. It seems to be specifically related to how Opera GX handles Teams' browser audio/video/screen-sharing functionality.

And this isn't a recent regression on my side, I've been experiencing these issues for more than six months.

Has anyone else encountered similar problems with Teams on Opera GX, particularly on macOS? Are there any known Chromium/Opera GX settings, flags or limitations that could explain this behaviour?

I’d really like to keep using Opera GX, but Teams calls are becoming difficult to use because of these issues.

Recently the VPN seems to be blocking the internet connection, displaying that message:

I've tried reinstalling the browser and it worked, then failed again. Disabling "Hardware acceleration" fixed it for a time tough.

Anyone else facing that issue?

Yes I tried that too. Hasn't happened once since I reinstalled Opera yesterday...

Still happening too. It has been less frequent in the past weeks but the 4-in-a-row from the last minutes really got my thinking changing my browser. Fixes help but never completely solve the problem...
