I still get the message box appearing if I want to open a torrent with Torch. It only gives a yes or no option so you're stuck with Torch......
BUT I now have found a registry setting to delete.
Go to Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\RegisteredApplications and delete Torch. Now when clicking on a torrent link it asks if you wish to opoen it with qBittorrent ( in my case) or probably whatever you put in the previous registry setting for you own default.
Ah ha.....
Now if you completely delete your torrent programme, settings and all then reinstall it, it sets itself as the default torrent programme.
Sorted at last.not true. tried that. only opera and chrome have this behavior. firefox set it under applications and forget it.
Ah, Opera and Chrome are what I use. I also have Torch which is the cause of the problem anyway. However on using Torch to download a torrent from the likes of pirate.trade they open in my qBittorrent so effectively leaving torch out of the loop.
I am now sussing things out more from the things I picked up. I installed the Browsec onto Torch and it works fine. Now if I then leave Torch as my default torrent manager the whole shebang is under the VPN to anonymise the activity.
So it gets the result I want but via a different route.
