Hello Opera users, If a video opens on a webpage I visit I get the audio but the visuals range from pixel pandemonium to a screen full of colored dots. Could some of the selling features mentioned in the sales pitch be causing the video problems? I don't remember the three initial stuff that is supposed to make my browsing faster and more private. Not much of that is happening here. Thank you for your time.

I'm still experiencing abnormal browsing problems in addition to the ones mentioned with amazon. There is no way to describe what I see if I go to youtube. Little blocks of pixels going everywhere, I have sound in some cases. On the weather.com page some vids run normally and others like the pixel orgy. I'm using the word pixel for lack of a better word or words. All the weirdness seems to be linear and in color. little bands of weirdness moving in opposite directions, linerly, across the scree.This screen sometimes changes to colored dots filling the page.

Could I be missing some software or something. `Seems like a browser should come ready to browse but I really don't know if that's right or not.

Again thank you, From the very first moment of LIKE I thought it was as juvenile as it could get. It's all gone down hill from there. Those sites are all just HIT bordellos as far as I'm concerned. Huge, if not criminal, waste of band width.

Amazon help sez the trouble is because I changed browsers. I'm having trouble swallowing that bit of corporate speak.
Is there something I can do on this end to avoid all the extra security crap they demand when I try to make purchases on that site. I've spoken to several supervisors there about this and got .... esentially "that's how it is" or something to that effect. It doesn't seem right to take that position. People changes browsers often enough that there should be some way to make using their page a little more friendly to browser surfers.

sgunhouse , thanks for the help. The `can't recognize all adds' explains some of what I'm whinning about. Do you know why websites are able to ignore do not track requests? I remember a while back in about the middle of my Firefox use, sites used to squeal like little piggies about the no track feature then in place on FF. They would make you wait extra time before you could access some of these sites. if you had no tracking activated.

In all fairness I must say I very much appreciate the stuff that does get removed by Opera

Hello. is there a way to get the salivating snoopers out of my life when I open a page like Youtube? The idea of these creeps trying to guess what I am going to buy, or possibly choose to look at is nauseating. Where are the pop up and add blockers?? It's worse than walking around over dressed in a third world country.

I am beginning to see the sleeze of the "more of everything, right now dammit!" ethos everywhere I go on line. This is going to kill the internet faster than smelly pickpockets grabbing at your clothing or worse. I can not be the only one shaking his head at what is stinking up the neighborhood... Can I? I spend as much time trying to avoid this ether/ofal as I do reading .

So far the newly imported bookmarks haven't changed. But many of them are on a page full glitzy boxes. What ever happened to View AS LIst? what a waste of realestate or virtual estate if you wish.

I really don't mind reading if I can find something on the topic I need but endless browsing to find answers is not my idea of a great time. i.e. i have yet to see a FAQ that is not a commercial for the app in question. It's completely transparent that it's more about ahhhh more..... of everything and a little about helping. I realize my views are skewed heavily by my life experiences and am not looking to change anyone's mind about anything.

Where might I read something about lists that is factual and not sales oriented? I don't think they are the lists I mention in View As List.

It's likely my frustration is from my lack of understanding of the new terms, and crowded screens of boxs and their reason for even existing. Lists in alphabetical order are to die for as far as I am concerned. That can be navigate in a hurry. Endless pages of boxes can not. Not by me anyway.

I'm grateful for your time and patience s.gunhouse. It's not my intent to belittle anyone's preferences, I'm hoping the reader will just write them off as opinions.

I'd very much like to change the way opera looks. It would also be nice to have ALL of my book marks imported when I hit that button. I am 73 and not a power user but have been using computers since 95 when I ran screaming to the Mac operating system. I am not fond of changes to my castle. Or my browsing habits. Or my browser. I want my opera page to have the bookmarks bar occupy the same turf it occupied in FIRESAlE or whatever it was called. It's gone forever because of crass consumerism and relentless begging. i.e. "common now we know you looked at this four times BUY IT C'mon BUY Something!. It's like walking in nice clothing in a third world country..... ultra creepy

I'm trying opera because I can not abide unbidden marketing in my face or my computer. Its MINE.

So I'd like my book marks bar to occupy the same space it always did. And all my book marks back. And please, all the happy colored boxes gone for ever. I can find my way to where I need to go. But I don't have the savvy to do these things in a new browser. If after all my whining, anyone can offer any suggestions I'd be stoked. And thanks for stopping by.
