I was able to restore the original state by opening
opera://flags/
and there search for "color profile".
There should be only one entry that matches this search query: Force color profile change it to sRGB and restart.

The whole Opera browser (menu bar and so on) including all websites are now using some mixture of white and yellow instead of bright white.
Only Opera is affected no other apps.

@satansbestbuddy In my opinion the best workaround is the one presented by jerkal1: adding a bookmark to
opera://startpagesharedthe bookmarks bar.You can place it on the left side so the muscle memory has adapt, too but the distance between old and new position is not too far away.

But that one opens a new tab instead of browsing to the speed dial page using the current tab. I prefer to reuse the current tab, because otherwise the number of tabs increases and increases...
