@robai it's worse than that, you can't get rid of it at all when opening a new tab... there it is. Tried emptying it, so now I have a useless empty space on the left of my favourite links. Is this the usual situation where developers working on 32" 4K monitors not seeing a problem with dictating what is done with my screen space, as for them it's nothing, a small vertical bar. However, it's a lot on a lower res screen where you need to maximise useful space. I didn't ask for it, I don't want it, I don't need it and I'd never use it. So why the hell would they make me have it? I've been using Opera for several years now, but things like this annoy the hell out of me... It's not that they have created it, fine, create what you like, just don't mandate things like this.
