A small update: Since this started happening I've temporarily switched over to Chrome, and there it hasn't happened a single time. So this definitely seems to be an Opera issue (although it's odd that there are so few reports about it, since it's a somewhat serious issue).

RE: Opera and Intel VGAOpera for Windows
I've had the same thing happen when opening new tabs in the latest stable Opera in Windows 7 lately. It's not often, but every once in a while the Intel graphics driver seems to crash and then restart (you can tell by Windows switching themes from Aero to Classic (without any transparencies) and back to Aero again). Sometimes this even makes my laptop reboot. It hasn't happened in any program other than Opera, and it has never happened at all until recently.

RE: Opera 16.0 - Mouse GesturesOpera for Windows
Yes, these gestures need to return ASAP:
- RMB+down from link (open link in new foreground tab)
- RMB+down+up from link (open link in new background tab),
- RMB+up (stop loading)
- RMB+scroll (cycle through tabs)
Without these, controlling Opera via mouse gestures is a very incomplete experience. I don't know why they even bothered implementing mouse gesures in Opera 15+ if they were gonna leave all these important ones out.
And regarding the last one in my list, the tab cycler pop-up also needs to return.

Didn't know that. Thanks a lot.
Ctrl+Q may not be optimal but I could live with that, provided it works the way Ctrl+tabs used to.

There is an option in 17 to enable "last seen" navigation. Still needs an option for what happens when you close a tab, though.
Just noticed you can do already do this in O16, on the opera:flags page. Makes Ctrl+Tab work the same way Ctrl+Q does. Kind of hard to tell which tab is going to be activated though, the tab cycler really needs to return.

It's all about the f-ing money. Really nice.
Well, Opera is not a charity. Still, as I said, let's hope they bring back the most important features and make Opera the browser above all others again.

RE: Presto engineOpera for Windows
Moving to Webkit/Blink was a good idea, it will ensure great compatibility and allow the Opera devs to focus on browser features rather than engine development. They just need to get the features back in there.

How do I bring up my list of passwords in Opera 15? There is no password icon any more. And CTRL-ENTER does not work. So what do I do?
You switch to something like LastPass. Seriously. Having all your passwords in a separate location is a much better idea than tying them to a specific browser. LastPass is cross-browser and cross-platform, and just makes life so much easier when it comes to password management. Never again will you have to import your passwords into a new browser or anything like that, you just install the LP extension. It will still auto-fill your passwords and all that, so you don't lose any functionality (rather, you gain a lot - LP has many great features beyond just storing passwords).
