I solved by removing the encryption on my phone in settings; I'm not sure if it was the the root cause but now sync is working fine.

same problem here, i've just migrated from a smartphone to another one, and it happens only on the new phone, i can already sync on the old one even if i log out. old phone Samsung A6 2018. new one A9 2018, both android 10, both updated,
