Yup, seems like some cursor ID got offset somewhere for whatever reason, shifting everything around by a few indexes.

Just to list them, because they're pretty funny (tho it wasn't very funny when i thought it was on my end):

• auto-scroller arrows are scrambled up:
  • top and right arrows are incorrect arrows
  • down arrow is "optical drive is busy" from like windows 98
  • bottom-right arrow is a white dot
  • left and bottom-left arrows are white dots with busy circle, never even seen that one lmao
• magnifying glass (these appear when the base image image size is bigger than the browser window, and just zooming in doesn't do it):
  • for zooming-out is invisible
  • for zooming-in is replaced with windows vista busy circle.

This is kinda related to one issue that got fixed with the tabs a long time ago, from the thread here:

However, it hasn't been fully fixed, there's still an issue with the tabs changing size when you change to a different one, while the tabs are still "compressed", even though you didn't leave the tabs area.

@burnout426 actually, my bad, i didn't test it enough and described it slightly incorrectly
it resizes when you click on a different tab after closing one, so it's a bit more specific

the tab won't change its size... as long as you keep your cursor in place, as soon as you move to a different tab they change as if you left the tab bar
also i just checked the changelog, apparently it was fixed in version 83.0.4254.14 – 2022-01-05 - DNA-96822 Tab close resize behavior change

either way, technically it's fixed, but it's still just not there with a different issue now

man, i'm confused, are we in the minority that see that this is broken or something? how can it be that the devs still didn't notice such an obvious problem, do they actually use chrome or firefox themselves or what

It's kind of pointless, it's not really helping much besides some very extremely rare cases where you have so much mess in the tabs that they're all over the place.
But it's a bit redundant, there's already a duplicate page highlight feature (which is very nice btw) and page preview which would be enough to tell you what you need.
Also in general I don't have a problem recognising the domain from the favicon, so a non-issue for me.
On top of that the way it highlights the pages when you hover on them there is way too subtle, if it at least did the visuals like the duplicate page thing with a blue underline it'd be better i think.

Basically, it's just an additional clutter that covers your screen with not much value and doesn't seem to be very useful.

Just to note, it's cool you guys keep experimenting and don't just stagnate. I feel like opera has always been pioneers in this kind of stuff, even if it's sometimes a hit or miss.

Also p.s. the page preview is broken, some pages cause complete hang up, i posted about this issue on bugs report long time ago; no response.

basically as stated in the thread title - when tab preview is turned on it causes a few seconds of browser freeze on switching tabs. It's been like this for a good while now.
Not all pages cause that though, most work perfectly fine, but then there's gonna be just this one tab that causes everything to lag like crazy.

Switching tabs with mouse causes the lag, but it's not an issue when I switch the tabs with that setting turned off or when i use keyboard shortcuts.

@firuz-u7: this whole search/closed pages thing straight up does not work
like not only the order is broken, sometimes it just straight up forgets to remember the closed pages
also i think sometimes it remembers some old page, so for example it'll remember google search for a page you went to
i just upgraded from version 69 only to see this feature is still a complete mess, like come on

(0. downgrade your opera and don't run it)

1. Go to your opera installation folder
2. Go to the folder with the version you're using (69.something)
3. Remove/rename the "opera_autoupdate.exe" file

@pursanovd: I do use it very sporadically, when i need a new window but don't want it to be a completely separate window (and clutter the task bar) and to remember it after closing the browser.
What i don't like is that you have to have the sidebar thing opened for it to be comfortably used.
Wish that sidebar was slightly more flexible, being able to hide/collapse it like in the old classic opera (and to move it to the right side) maybe then i'd use it more, now it's just annoying and i simply turn it off 99% of the time

Well, with the removal of the closed tabs button i'm only one step away to switching to other browser and literally the only 2 things that really hold me back are the best bookmarks system and the "click-on-tab-to-scroll-to-the-top" feature at this point.

It's cool when you try and experiment with features, just like that scrolling feature i just mentioned
But it's not cool when you do that in spite of the users backlash and never turn back
it's not like people didn't complain about closed tabs feature being locked behind opera:flags

When i want to save the page in bookmarks or whatever, the image box for it is just gray space, as if it couldn't load the images, without any possibility to change it and saves as basic address image.

This happens mostly on sites that holds lots of pictures like image hosting websites (e.g. tinypic.com)
So this is probably an issue with "too many pics on page", but i wonder if there's a solution for this? Or is this engine restricted?

Opera-32bit version 42.0.2393.94 (but it worked like that for quite some time), Win 10-64bit
