@leocg said in [Suggestion]How about Opera GX Browser on XBOX consoles?:
@pschirki I'm not sure if Opera would be interesting in developing for a specific device, but it's just my guess.
So What is a specific device in your eyes? The XBOX OS is based on Windows 10, and a console is just another device like a smartphone or a tablet. Opera GX is a so-called "Gaming Browser" so why not establish it on a Gaming Console?
No offense, it looks like that you do not seem to be involved in any kind of Opera development, you are the Moderator of this forum, is that right? So why not let people decide who would know what to do with my suggestion? -

@leocg Sure, there are a whole bunch of 3rd Party apps on Microsoft consoles. Monument Browser, Kodi, Spotify, Tune-In radio, Netflix, those are only some of the 3rd Party apps. Thing is, those are all UWP-Apps, and maybe you should contact some EDGE-Devs how they ported the Chromium Engine to UWP.
XBOX Consoles run on a Windows 10 kernel. -
[Suggestion]How about Opera GX Browser on XBOX consoles?Opera GX
Now that the Chromium Version of Microsoft EDGE runs on Microsofts Consoles (with mouse and keyboard support btw.), it would be great to see how Opera GX would run on my Series X.

@pschirki I agree that Opera could support multiple profiles, although I usually don't use them and although several pages/services allow you to change accounts kinda easily.
However I don't agree that each workspace should be a different profile.
Ok, agreed. But the possibility having multiple profiles on one workspace or several workspaces with each a set of unique profiles do not exlude themselves, i think?

@pschirki And I don't agree with you.
Ah, ok, so your no friend of convenience. You'd rather have Opera users utilize other browsers instead the one whose Forum Mod you are? Weird.
If i would be in your position i'd at least ask some dev if the suggestion was feasible and communicate the answer instead of only stating "My take is: Opera does not need this."
But thanks for the discussion anyway.

@pschirki Because workspaces are for group tabs, so that you can have different sets of pages and windows according to a subject (news, sports, travel, streaming services, social networks, etc). They aren't meant for having different logins in the same service.
@leocg Yes, i know this. and still it would be more convenient to be able to have a solution like this:
1st workspace -> 1st profile = 1st account
2nd workspace -> 1st profile = 2nd account
3rd workspace -> 1st profile = 3nd account
(kudos to @pavelopdev )than use 3 different browsers for such a solution. Imagine to be able to use 3 different web.whatsapp tabs in one browser in different workspaces! Is this really so unthinkable?

@pschirki Changing it would totally break the idea of workspaces.
What? Why is the idea to be able to use different log-ins on different workspaces breaking their idea. As i see it being able to use multiple accounts over different workspaces would eliminate being forced to use different browsers.

RE: General Suggestions and Requests Topic - Opera for DesktopsSuggestions and feature requests
@leocg I know, and my Suggestion was to change this so one can use at least multiple logins in one workspace.

RE: General Suggestions and Requests Topic - Opera for DesktopsSuggestions and feature requests
@pavelopdev
Do you mean logical isolation of accounts? In what way? Similar to the Containers implemented in Firefox browser?
This! -
RE: General Suggestions and Requests Topic - Opera for DesktopsSuggestions and feature requests
@leocg @pavelopdev Thanks for answering!
Yes, and this maybe to separate by workspaces.
So that on workspace 1 are my personal google/Microsoft etc account
and on workspace 2 my work accounts from Google, MS etc.I tried the sessionbox extension, but when i open lets say the my personal google account on one tab and my work account on a 2nd tab , on every page i open with the 2nd account is my 1st account logged in.
I hope you understand my problem, as i am no native english speaker -
RE: General Suggestions and Requests Topic - Opera for DesktopsSuggestions and feature requests
@pavelopdev
Hi, i mean:1st workspace -> 1st profile = 1st account
2nd workspace -> 1st profile = 2nd account
3rd workspace -> 1st profile = 3nd accountbe like
1st workspace -> googleacc1, facebook acc1, etc.
2nd workspace - > googleacc2, facebook acc2, etc.but everything with the same Opera profile logged in if this would work.
On my first 5" were LHX Attack Chopper and Carrier Command

RE: General Suggestions and Requests Topic - Opera for DesktopsSuggestions and feature requests
Opera user since Opera existed on one 3,5" diskette here. I would like to request a feature to divide workspaces so that we are possible to use multiple log-ins. Would this be feasible?
Please keep up the good work!

Let us use different accounts on different workspaces.Suggestions and feature requests
It would be appreciated if i could log in with different google/facebook/instagram/reddit/twitter etc, accounts on different workspaces. As of now, i have to use different browsers to do so, but i'd like to have the Opera functionality wherever i browse. Maybe this could be achieved with Profiles, which I'd like to see at the Opera Browser, and separate quick-launch/favorites on different Workspaces.```

Save single bookmark bars to special speed-dial foldersSuggestions and feature requests
Perhaps it would be a good solution to save single bookmark bars to special speed-dial folders
so we would be able to exchange the bar due to different use of workspace.
-
RE: Separated bookmarks and speed dials for each workspaceSuggestions and feature requests
Not only the speed dial, the Favorite bar should be empty on every new workspace.
-
Add a empty bookmark bar to new workspaces.Suggestions and feature requests
It would be very convenient to have a new empty bookmark bar attached to every new workspace we create, so we'd be able to create more bookmarks there.
