Try disabling Opera Sync.
More and more people are reporting this lately.
All my Opera Desktop installations (Linux, Windows) are having this problem for more than a month now (since Opera 45). A new profile didn't work.

This issue is reported several times on this forum. The only solution / workaround is to disable Opera Sync. I am having this problem for more than a month now, so far I haven't read about a real solution.

There are several threads on this forum of people reporting crashes with the latest Opera released which seem related to Opera Sync. Disabling Opera Sync on the affected installations solves the problem. Creating a new profile doesn´t.

I can confirm this problem with Opera 45 on both Windows10 and Xubuntu 16.04LTS. I created a complete new local profile on Xubuntu, but that didn't help. They only solution that's working so far is disabling Opera Sync on the affected installations.
