Well, Allo is available today for installation on Chrome. I tried to install it on Opera, but I couldn't figure it out.

Has anyone been successful?

I know that this is due to my carelessness, but it's damn annoying and it's happened three times this November. When there is another window open including an unsent email, and you close the main window with too many tabs open, then the second window is the one that opens on relaunch and my main window with all of my tabs is lost. I was unaware another window was open when I closed Opera.

PROGRAMMING SUGGESTION: If more than one window is open, make the default to save the window with the most tabs or using the most memory. Or a pop-up box asking which window should be the one to save. Or save everything. Maybe there is an extension solving this problem. If so, I haven't found it.

One of the great features of Opera compared to Chrome is that you can't accidently close a pinned tab, something I did a lot before.

Yes. I've used Dashlane since reading the review in NYTimes years ago. I would not have been able to migrate from Chrome to Opera without it.

Why migrate? Chrome's a memory hog if you have too many tabs open and seems to stimulate Window 10's System and Compressed Memory to nearly 100% of total CPU cycles and slowing Chrome to uselessness. Not so Opera 39. Since switching, I discovered the invaluable and highly recommended Tab Wrangler.

And Opera's built-in ad blocker does the job without the overhead of the add-on blockers. It's terrific.

You just solved one of my annoyances with Opera 39, Thanks. Now if I could just reconfigure the 1 and 1 keys (tabs backwards and forwards) to the same as Chrome, I'd be ecstatic. If you're trying to tab from a Google search page, it just types the number in the Google search box.
