G'day leocg,

I had previously excluded "Opera.exe" and "launcher.exe" from BitDefender so it obviously is not the problem.

Any other ideas ?

Must be a misunderstanding "It happens only with Bitdefender turned on?"
I said I am using "with Bitdefender Total Security installed." and not that it was causing the problem. No error pops up from Bitdefender.

Are you suggesting that Bitdefender is the problem ?

Opera Update fails in Win8.1e with Bitdefender Total Security installed.

Have reported this twice and had no reply as yet for a fix.

I have manually updated to the latest version;
Version:81.0.4196.54
An error occurred while checking for updates
Update stream:Stable
System:Windows 8.1 64-bit (WoW64)

And the update still fails!
