facebook locks up opera 12.17 tight ...only way out is to use m.facebook.com ...sheesh !!

and have used it up to now having 12.17 64bit highly customized... some sites still need the dreaded MSIE ...I use win8.1 ...I am afraid opera is not going to outlast me ...what browser might I like after opera?

opera is sinking deeper & deeper...

use m.facebook.com ...the mobile site opens in opera 12.17...

suddenly opens fullscreen & will not retain windows position & size like it did before ...how to fix that?

...so, this condition persists ...the xfinity website showing the tv listings and allowing access to the DVR & services now freezes opera completely every time while it has worked fine for years previously ...any idea what this is ?

sorry for my rant but not sorry for my point not couched as politely as I would have desired ...but I feel sorry the help forums are not preserved ...there are many cloud locations that are very inexpensive for opera to use to park their stuff...

opera is a few geeks from norway & a little spot on the earth in california so they say & they emulate microsoft being bullies and ignore their pitiful little following (self included) ...I use opera every day & am enraged the fund of knowledge is gone ...so be it; they have no respect for 3rd world people who use old equipment and old software to their credit ...they disrespect their users just like the rest of the browser buffoons ...surely I will be banned for these final comments on their miserable forum

it reminds me of some data trashing that occurred a long time back ...it was something (name escapes me) like use.net or whatever but it just shut down trashing multitudes of documents forever ...more recently we have seen magaupload do the same under legal attack ...the wealth of info about opera is going to be trashed leaving only what "interests" the Norwegians but may interest others to keep the "old stuff" for many around the world who use old devices with old opera... I say keep it all ...

I don't know to what extent the end of my opera will affect these forums; it would be a big mistake IMHO to do away with the forums inasmuch as they are a resource for past responses for those of us who need them as a reference. What is the plan?:yikes: :yikes:

I have a 64 bit windows 8.1 desktop with 8gb ram and plenty of HDD space... it has just been freshly installed with windows 8 and windows 8.1 update and all up to date... I put on opera 12.16 64 bit and it moved so slowly loading pages over 15-30 seconds ...it was no good and in frustration I put on opera 12.15 32 bit and bingo, all is well ...I removed the 64 bit version... the 12.15 offered update to 12.16 and it still works fine with that ...any explanation to help me understand that?

I tried to update my profile with new info but it will not save ...using opera !! sheesh !!

had opera 12.16 working fine windows 8.1
then came the need to reinstall ...metro corrupted, more misery
reinstalled windows 8, then udates (more than 70) & then update to 8.1
now, reinstall opera 12.16 fresh dld with saved profile
this is painfully slow and will not customize properly & not showing icons for my bookmarks, but really very slow ...this cannot be true !!
I could use some help with this cuz I hafta use the DREADED M$IE in the meanwhile as I don't have all day to wait for one page to open...
please help !!
