@pilis00 agreed, but now - Opera One is on the Chromium 138, whereas, Opera Air is on the Chromium 137.

RE: Opera Air Chromium VersionFeedback
@Mlipka I see Opera One currently runs on Chromium 137, whereas Opera Air on 135.
Update stream: Stable - on both cases.
Please let us know why Opera Air chromium version doesn't follow Opera One.

RE: Opera Air Chromium VersionFeedback
@Mlipka I feel like, dev resources are scattered across all different Opera browsers, that makes Opera One stuck on Chromium 135, just to name one.
It seems, Opera Co-CEO, Song Lin, daily drives Opera Air, that makes me even more hopeful that about great amount of dev resources go to Opera Air and it stays around updated for many years to come.
Just a note, I will be staying on Opera Air, even if there are other Opera browsers and including upcoming AI browser - I'm just interested in Opera Air, from the Opera browsers family.

RE: VPN in opera airRequests
@Mlipka Yes I see, but I'm not a fan of such pricing.
$4 should be monthly for one month, six months, one year, one decade or one century. -

@Mlipka said in VPN in opera air:
@Andrey3110 What do you mean by not having a built-in VPN?
It's right there in the left corner
I've just discovered you offer paid VPN Pro service.
Pricing should always be $4 per month, no matter if we pay monthly, six month or one year in advance.

RE: VPN in opera airRequests
@Andrey3110 I wonder why you would need to do that in Opera Air, focusing on simplicity.
You can use reputable 3rd party VPN service.

RE: Does Opera Air send back user data?Feedback
@leocg said in Does Opera Air send back user data?:
@opera-browser-user See https://www.opera.com/privacy and https://www.opera.com/terms for information on how your data is used by Opera.
Thank you for the links. I had already read them before posting.
Please let me wait for the answer to my specific context and question. -
Does Opera Air send back user data?Feedback
reddit comment:
"Yeah that article is not very accurate. My company is hired to break down these browsers for certification for use in secure environments. We actually get the source code of even the proprietary side of things and see every little thing that is going through the browser and what is sent back. Toms is not a good source for just about anything tech ever since they got bought out. The most user data that is sent back is Edge and Opera at the top, followed by Chrome. Now keep in my non-user data / technical data like security checks etc, is not what I am talking about.
Question:
Does Opera Air still send the user data (non-technical/non-security data) back, if basically all privacy settings are unchecked?

Temp installer.exe files upon updatingFeedback
Once Opera Air performs auto-update, it generates Temporary installer.exe files and asks Fort Firewall for Windows to allow internet access for it.
This is really annoying, because not only I need to allow Temporary installer.exe on every new update, but I also need to delete these strings from my Firewall.
Other major browsers don't generate such temporary files upon updating. They just update automatically in the background, with auto-updater.

@musiclover97a I think your both of you suggestions had been already requested. Furthermore, it's a rule to suggest only one request per post.

RE: [Duplicated]Opera Air for LinuxRequests
@Mlipka To prevent further duplication on this topic, I'd like to add the following:
Opera One has Flatpak build, which currently has 838,066 installs.
It's obvious that Flatpak builds provide great exposure to the browser.
If you've already decided that you'd keep developing Opera Air for years to come, I'd strongly suggest to release Opera Air as an official Flatpak build.
I consider immutable Linux OS such as Aeon Desktop or KDE Linux as promising alternative to Windows and Mac OS. Linux system that's minimal, simple, automated and Flatpak-driven.

RE: I just want to say that I loved the Opera AIRFeedback
@adriano-shimabukuro I'm glad to see you are enjoying boosts.
Honest question: how do boosts compare to listening classical music for focus? -
RE: Opera Air Chromium VersionFeedback
It's right that backporting can fix security issues. However, it could not always be the case, as failures are highly likely to happen. I believe, the best security strategy is to run Opera Air on the latest Chromium Stable version.
On the other hand, there is a risk of compatibility issues - some websites such as Canva won't load if browser runs Chromium several versions behind.

RE: Show bookmarks Only on the new tab pageRequests
@Mlipka Show bookmarks Only on the new tab page - major browsers support it.
Basically, what happens is the following:
Bookmarks toolbar is visible only on the new tab page.
Once bookmark is clicked from the bookmark toolbar, bookmark toolbar auto-hides. The result - distraction-less browsing. -
RE: opera air translatorRequests
@Mlipka Yes, I'm aware with Opera One, that's why I mentioned Lingvanex. However, Opera One doesn't have selection translation. Frankly, I cannot use Aria for selection translation until it at least match Duck.ai privacy.
In the ideal scenario, we should have selection translation powered by Lingvanex as well.
I uninstalled Opera One for Opera Air. Please don't abandon Opera Air.

Make - Search tabs, Minimze, Restore Down, Close Buttons - Fully ClickableFeedback
I'm reporting on Opera One on Windows.
Search tabs, Minimze, Restore Down, Close -
all these buttons should be clickable, even if we move
mouse pointer to the very top of the button: -

Include More Built-in Ad-Blocking Lists

Search engine freedom to me sounds like this:
ability to delete some of the default search engines, add custom search engine (plus, ability to set is as default). -
Opera Air Chromium VersionFeedback
Out of the major Chromium-based browsers, only Opera (Air) runs on Chromium, that's several versions behind. Even Opera competitor, that has many features (but has lower than Opera's market share), doesn't run Chromium that's several versions behind.
