My Opera browser broke completely. It seems to crash on start and opens instead a black dialogue box with the title "Opera needs to restart". The box contains some random text and three toggle buttons which do nothing. I tried to uninstall Opera and I get the same box without the toggle buttons. My Opera version seems to be 12.17. I tried to overwrite the install with a new version but still the old installation persists and I can't do anything about it. Now my opera.exe starts the broken Opera and launcher.exe the current stable version. Windows also claims I have both. Has anyone else experienced something similar and is there a solution how to get rid of the broken Opera installation.
