A little research shows that the protocols being used are supported and being verified by an authority used by Opera with others. Yet with Opera it goes unrecognized and unaccepted. Basically the protocols are supported and verified by the same authority in others but when used by Opera it isn't. Just doesn't make since unless there's some sort of block or something in place for certain types of sites or combinations of certain identifiers. Like i said, doesn't make since, yet it doesn't appear to have raised any thoughts or concerns. Even with a steadily growing number of users having this problem

RE: Unsupported protocol for Piratebay for Opera 27Opera for Windows
Same problem with 27 and 28. I use a VPN but have no problems with same addons with other browsers. This is happening with various other sites also. Opera is preferred but it's the only browser with this problem. I'd like to continue using it but its very limiting with this problem. Appears to be happening to many others on various sites.Any known fixes?

RE: A secure connection cannot be established because this site uses an unsupported protocolOpera for Windows
The unsupported protocol is happening with 28 too. one of the possible solutions was to change the browser identification. right click a page of the website and select, edit site preferences, etc, etc. my question is, if one can't connect to the site, how does one right click on one of the sites pages? seems that if one has access to a page to right click on, one doesn't have a connection problem with that website. or am i just having one of those brain fart moments? this unsupported protocol problem appears to be growing rapidly with with multiple versions. the frustrations with things are starting to outnumber the satisfaction with things. very disheartening!!
