Installed opera-stable_42.0.2393.94_amd64.deb, on Ubuntu Mate 16.04.
Did not appear in list of Internet programs.
Had to find it and copy it from "usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/opera" to favorites.
If anyone else had the same problem- hope this helps
