I'm a website designer. Checking a new site I'm working on in the major browsers, I noticed that Opera adds a <style> block at the bottom of the <head> tag. The block starts with:
<style>
:root zeus-ad, :root topadblock, :root span[id^="ezoic-pub-ad-placeholder-"], :root guj-ad, :root div[jsdata*="CarouselPLA-"][data-id^="CarouselPLA-"],
The whole thing is 27869 characters long. A lot of it looks like styles for ads, which don't appear on my webpages. Safari, Chrome, and Firefox don't add this block--only Opera.
And a lot of it includes links to various websites, some seemingly benign (trk.moviesflix4[dot]xyz, www.highperformancegate[dot]com) but some disturbing (engine.trackingdesks[dot]com, www.kingsoffetish[dot]com, www.mypornstarcams[dot]com).
Search engines will of course be crawling these pages looking for keywords and links, and I'd hardly want the client I'm building the site for to be saddled with this dreck.
Has anyone else noticed this? Do you know any way to prevent it? Clearing the cache and reloading doesn't seem to work,
I love the Opera browser and have been using it off and on for over 15 years. So this is upsetting to say the least. I'd appreciate any help I can get.
Thanks.
Mark
