Recently, Google search results are appearing compressed into just a few columns near the left side of the screen. Can someone suggest a way to fix this?

I am using Opera Version 12.17 Build 1863, on Windows 7.

How many tabs do you have open. I often have this happen and sometimes it can be fixed by operating Opera with only one tab open.

I, too, live in Israel but get google.com and not google.co.il
Check in preferences on the Search tab, edit the Google entry. Under details, I have:
http://www.google.com/search?q=%s&sourceid=opera&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&channel=suggest
I see on the same details tab where one can select to use this as default search engine and speed-dial search engine.
I am using Opera 12.16 but maybe the same applies in your case.
