RE: opera mail on Linux no more ?Opera for Linux
it seems that getting a Opera Mail for Linux makes sense since there are not too many alternatives out there and Opera Mail is so versatile. It would be a great way to introduce new users to Opera and that can't be all bad.
The great thing about Opera Mail was that you had email and browser in a single package, no way to have that commodity back, so what's the point of Opera Mail now? have you ever tried KMail? IMHO it's better than Opera mail.

RE: Trouble with videos on NYT website (Beta on Linux)Future releases
New York Times videos work fine for me; I'm using the latest Opera developer for Linux.
from the home page they work in the latest developer, we already know that,
btw can you confirm that videos don't work when you try to play them from the video section?

RE: Trouble with videos on NYT website (Beta on Linux)Future releases
Personally I would avoid that like the plague.
You may be right, as a fact since Opera is available for Linux again, I use Maxthon only for test/comparison purpose, the NYT website is the only one where I have problems using Opera, Opera Beta is my default browser now, even if I hate the impossibility to manage search engines.

RE: Trouble with videos on NYT website (Beta on Linux)Future releases
indeed Maxthon 1.0.5.3 uses Chromium version 33

RE: Trouble with videos on NYT website (Beta on Linux)Future releases
Thanks ruario,
indeed in Opera Developer 27 the video section of the NYT works fine when I disable ABP,
while it makes no difference in Opera Beta 26, no videos no matter if ABP is disabled or enabled,
Chromium behaves like Developer 27.
Maxthon plays everything everywhere even with ABP enabled. -
RE: Trouble with videos on NYT website (Beta on Linux)Future releases
Update: this is really strange
I confirm videos don't work with Opera Beta 26 but they work with Chromium and Maxthon.
As for the newest Opera Developer 27 - released today - I confirm that videos work fine when I play them from the NYT's home page, but they don't when I try to play them from the video section of the website.
It makes no sense. -
RE: Trouble with videos on NYT website (Beta on Linux)Future releases
I have just adjourned Opera Developer 27 and it works fine, let's hope the Beta will follow up soon.

RE: Trouble with videos on NYT website (Beta on Linux)Future releases
Ok, correction. I had Flash disabled (sorry!). When it is enabled the video does not play in either Opera or Chrome.
On the plus side, you could use HTML5 video to work around it for now. When Flash is enabled the video does play in Chromium and Maxthon, but not in Opera Beta 26.
The guide you've made is great, but for the time being I will simply use another browser for the NYT website. -
RE: Trouble with videos on NYT website (Beta on Linux)Future releases
Have you pressed the play button ? (bottom left of the video window), as the image you have posted is showing the video in pause mode.
I am not a genius but I am not that stupid
of course I've tried, but it doesn't work. -

RE: Opera beta 26Future releases
5) Bookmark folders order can not be changed any more. first thing I did last night after the update was changing the order of my folders and it worked fine.
Tried again, and it does work in "my folders" management area, but not in the tree view.
Confirmed, but I don't think this a bug.
I confirm that it works, when I move a folder in the management area the move is instantly reflected in the tree view, just for the record, Linux here

RE: Opera 25 (beta) and MP3Opera for Linux
thank you linuxmint7, I had already checked flags but I cannot enable them, that's what I get there:
¨Sorry, this experiment is not available on your platform.¨
I don't understand, Opera Desktop Team's Blog says all Linux users need is ffmpeg, what am I missing here?
