I just bought a new Dell a couple of months ago. It has Win8.1.
I've had absolutely no problems with Opera until a few days ago.
Upon someone's recommendation, I downloaded Gimp, a graphics program.
Almost instantly, when I logged on to one of my discussion forums, the graphics went haywire and, when I tried to read posts or scan the forum, all I got was garbage - string after string of stuff like this

I tried replacing Javascript but the instructions for doing so did not match anything on the Menu - it kept telling me to go to Quick Settings and then something else and THEY WEREN'T THERE! I tried downloading the 9.0 version of Opera and my PC simply wouldn't take it.
I've got to be honest, I HATE IE, Chrome, and Firefox and Chrome are achingly slow.
