@awonaija I agree. I thought it was a virus also. While it may be a "nifty" cosmetic update it is not required. It adds clutter and confusion to the browser for basic users.

RE: Tab Scrolling disabled?Tab Islands, Tabs and Workspaces
@lolganer8929 said in Tab Scrolling disabled?:
opera://flags/#scrollable-tab-strip
I already had this enabled and it still did not work. I did however find that under Settings they added "enable tab scrolling when many tabs are open". This is essentially the same thing as the flags tab strip.

Tab Scrolling disabled?Tab Islands, Tabs and Workspaces
Opera updated (joy) and I again have 100+ tabs to sort through. One thing that helped me sort out the "needed" tabs from the ones I closed 1 day or 1 week ago was Tab Scrolling. Unfortunately, with this new Opera One update it looks like Tab Scrolling is not working. I verified that it is "Enabled" in Opera:flags and restarted both my browser and my laptop yet it is still not working.

@kilroy-washere I've had the same issue. So far I have not heard or seen of a fix since June.

RE: 100+ tabs look extremely bad after latest updateTab Islands, Tabs and Workspaces
Sadly this new update also undoes everything done previously to fix the 100+ tab issue. I wonder if it is going to be a norm that after every update you will have to go back and close tabs that were closed before the update. I am again going through all these tabs closing the ones I closed 2 days or 1 week ago as they were no longer needed.

RE: General Opera One Appearance Feedback TopicAppearance
@zauberfritz I ended up reviewing what I could and closed most of them as they were old tabs that reopened. Unfortunately there is not a way to fix the size of the tabs from what I have seen (as of yet). You can turn on the scrolling to help as well as turn off the "island" tabs. Unfortunately, trying to move the tabs around is an issue

RE: General Opera One Appearance Feedback TopicAppearance
The browser update for me was a forced update. Typically I get notified when an update is available, this did not happen. I turned on my laptop and the interface drastically changed. I started using Opera about 2 decades ago because it wasn't mainstream like Google or Microsoft and it was easier to use. Now it seems like it is trying to become a clone to the larger browser options but doesn't provide a good user interface or experience. Edge, Chrome and Firefox have an easier "Help" menu navigation making them more user-friendly. The multitude of tabs I saw on day one was shocking to me, especially since many of them were all tabs I had closed previously over the past week. After finally finding a solution, I was able to work on research projects but now noticed that when I try to move a tab, there is a huge space. Highlighting the tab has it moved over about 10 spaces. Even with "islands" turned off, it still tries to create a tab island. What use is disabling an option if it persists? It is too easy to accidentally close a tab than it is to open or move it due to the tab sizes. I am hoping that the feedback is taken into consideration to better enhance the user experience. Otherwise I would move back over to MS or Chrome and recommend others to due the same. Copying other browser options does not make one unique or welcoming, especially if you don't copy the fixes those options implemented.

@nightmaresoul I had a similar issue and was able to find some resolution looking into the forums after signing up. That is the issue however. A new user to Opera may not know about the forums and cannot view the post until they sign up. There is no prompt to easily solve the issue after downloading the browser. This makes for a very unfriendly user experience and will push folks to other browsers.

RE: pinned tabs aint movingGeneral
@fan4eggg I've run into the same issue. At this point I am saddened to say that the browser of choice for me the past 2 decades is about to get retired and deleted for more "mainstream" browsers such as Chrome, Firefox or even Edge. Change is good but this latest seems to be full of issues.

RE: 100+ tabs look extremely bad after latest updateTab Islands, Tabs and Workspaces
@inoti Thanks! I was about to just unistall Opera due to this update. The Tabs were too small and easy to close by accident. Doesn't help well when you are doing research papers and need to access information from another tab that is the size of an ant. The scrolling helped abit.
