Generally a nice chunk of people would prefer to have their sidebar to the right, and i hope this feature could be added soon.

Opera GX[Request] Add skype to sidebar
I have been using GX for a month and its my default browser both for work and personal. I use instagram and whatsapp from the sidebar which is one of the best features about Opera GX. If skype could be added in a similar fashion it would make a good addition to the browser and make people use it more.
