Hi everyone,
I wanted to share a few more observations and tips based on my ongoing troubleshooting with Opera's frequent crashes. While some of the earlier suggestions helped reduce the frequency of crashes, the issue hasn't been completely resolved. Here are a few additional steps I've tried:
Check for Conflicting Software: I noticed that certain background applications, especially those related to system optimization or security, can interfere with Opera. Temporarily disabling these programs helped reduce crashes.
Adjust Opera's Memory Usage: Opera tends to consume a lot of memory when multiple tabs are open. I found that limiting the number of open tabs and using Opera's built-in "Workspaces" feature to organize tabs helped manage memory usage better.
Experiment with Opera's Power Saving Mode: Enabling Power Saving Mode (found in Settings > Advanced > Browser > Power Saving Mode) seemed to help stabilize the browser during video playback and heavy multitasking.
Monitor System Resources: Using Task Manager, I observed that Opera's CPU and GPU usage spikes during crashes. Keeping an eye on these metrics can help identify if the issue is related to resource overload.
Test with a Different Browser Profile: I created a new user profile in Opera and found that the crashes were less frequent. This suggests that the problem might be related to corrupted profile data.
Consider Using Opera GX: For those who need a more stable experience, Opera GX (the gaming version of Opera) has additional features to manage system resources, which might help reduce crashes.
Despite these efforts, crashes still occur occasionally, especially during intensive tasks like streaming or having multiple tabs open. I’m continuing to monitor the situation and will update if I find a more permanent solution. If anyone else has discovered additional fixes or insights, please share!
