Hello Group!
Since this week-end, Opera Neon won't start anymore on my Win7 machine (SP1, 32bits).
Looking into Process Explorer when I run When I run neon.exe:
- neon.exe process starts
- it creates 'child' (assuming: one per previously opened tabs. I have less than 10 child processes being created)
- sometimes I can (briefly) see Neon page opening
- then all processes immediatly shutdown
- only the parent neon.exe process remains, with CPU ebing in 'Suspended' state.
I tried to update => no change; to uninstall/reinstall => same behavior.
On a second uninstall attempt, I also cleared history data (check box during uninstall process); that time I am no more able to install the application... it crashes during the setup.exe with generic windows message stating that 'an issue occur, installation failed'.
Looking into eventviewer.msc > application logs I see an error message related to ntdll.dll (sorry it's in French):
Chemin d’accès de l’application défaillante : C:\Users\frx10592\AppData\Local\Opera Software\Opera Neon\Application\neon.exe
Chemin d’accès du module défaillant: C:\Windows\SYSTEM32\ntdll.dll
FYI my Win7 was patched (windows update) last Friday so could be related to whatever change implemented into ntdll.dll.
Any idea?
I can provide Neon debug logs... if someone knows how to get those
Thank you for your attention,
Jérôme
