Proton vpn works fine on both my machines and all devices on my network so not sure why opera vpn is an issue

iv recently switched to Opera on both my macs, one m1 machine running the newest update and one imac running Monterey on both i get 'VPN temporarily unavailable'. the in built VPN was one of the main reasons to change, anyone fixed this issue? or is it a issue on Opera server side that they are working to fix?
