Did you find a way to do this?
I hate full screen mode in MacOS. It makes switching between apps kinda wierd. Like the OP, I want to maximise browser window real estate.
Seems logical to me to be able to hide the address bar whenever you want.

Opera MiniScale down a website in iOS
With Safari for iOS, you can use the Page Zoom option in Settings to scale down all sites. I have it set to 75%, and I want to do the same with Opera. How can I do that?
