RE: Passwords sync between Opera PC and Opera Android... when?Opera for Android
Since opera dumped presto (2013 if i am not wrong) opera for android has a hard time when it comes to password management.
On my android one device the stable opera is unable to save password on the login page of it's own forum....
Also there are numerous other websites where opera simply does not offer the "Save password?" option after hitting the login button.
God have mercy on your soul if you have to make a hard reset on your phone, after restoring opera, you have to login to your favourite sites one-by-one to make opera remember the passwords.
(of course only after you have imported all the speed dial "icons" ONE BY ONE, since only opera mini has the "import all" speeddial feature)
Probably this is the only mainstream browser app on play store that is unable to provide password management for five years. It is more than pathetic, that this is an issue in 2018.
So, i do not think that anyone should have high expectations about this topic, better clap your hands for more important developments like permanently shown search history and suggested search topics for this is opera only capable of since years and at the moment. -
RE: Do not save search historyOpera for Android
@leocg said in Do not save search history:
hijack
Hijack? The topic is already about the annoying existence of search history under the search/adress bar... There is nothing to hijack. Also I only reflected on Opera's notorious development practice: to shock the community with useless "dog and pony show" features, make them suffer with it for monts, after that make an option to disable it. No matter where i post this, some zealous mods will always fint this as an offence against the forum community and devs.

RE: Do not save search historyOpera for Android
It is always against the rules on this ""forum"" to complain about the impotence of opera developer team.
I am not the only one who begs for optional changes whenever opera makes such "developments" on the app.
Which is full of bugs and shortcomings, yet developer team always comes forth with annoying-nogood """"features"""" like this, every time disregarding privacy.
For example: when we were unable to switch off trending searches...Sitting on the bus, try'n to browse some news and after tapping on the adress bar some shamefull bullsh#°% automatically pops up about recent bulb news, gay parades and so on......
Everyone begs for a better password management and sync option since the dropping of operas own engine, yet we alwasy get these kind of cheap and useless FORCED ""innovations"".
Why not look for another app? Because all the other browsers have seriously nitwit solutions...like chrome's restoring every closed page after close/start browsing.
And I rather rely on "big names" than on freshly started ""supermegaappsudios#no1"" kinda developers.I use firefox and opera at the same time, but looks like it is time to get rid of opera and stick to the fox.

RE: Opera for Android 45Opera for Android
There are so many things opera lacks. Like password sync. Also there are some pages where opera does not give the option to save auth. data after logging in.
Yet opera always manage to come up with some highly unwanted, cheap ass bullsh#t.
Just like trending searches, popping up ads in opera mini after starting the app, importing speed dials only one by one in the main android app...
Why is it so hard to focus on important things? -
RE: Trending searchOpera for Android
So there is really nobody else that thinks this feature is annoying as hell????? Everyone likes yellow press news and idiotic recommended gossip subjects...
-
RE: Trending searchOpera for Android
Looks like it is really time to move from opera. First you f.-ed up opera mini with the same thing and with ads, now the same fate comes to the original opera browser. I think it is time to use only firefox. There are no words to describe how idiotic changes were made to all the browsers you develop.

RE: Opera for android & Opera for android beta password managementOpera for Android
Go to a webpage where you can log in to an account.
Log in and save the password.Go to options/clear browser data and clear everything but the saved passwords.
Go to the web same page where you saved your login data... username and password will be forgotten.
Go to a webpage and log in, save your login data.
Exit opera
Start opera and enable rally mode.
Go to the same site.
Login fields will be empty.Do the same with rally mode enabled first, and then disabled...
Go to a website where you can log in to your account.
Select do not remember password.
Close opera
start opera
Go to the same site
After loging in you well be propted again to save password or not... -
RE: Synced bookmarks and improved memory usage in Opera 28 for AndroidOpera for Android
Password management is a real problem. Because sometimes it remembers the saved passwords and usernames, sometimes it does not.
After clearing history, all the passwords are gone, even if i uncheck saved passwords from the list before cleaning the browser history. And yes, if you chose "no" when the browser asks you if you would like to change the password, the next time you enter the same site, opera will ask again what to dovwith the password.
This is a promlem that can't be solved since opera for android appeared in google play store!!!!!!!!!!?
Also browser sync was integrated painfully slow, but the speed dial sync was forgotten......why?............
It would be really nice to have developers working on really important issues, and not on exit dialogs....
There is no other mainstream/alternative browser that lacks a properly working password management.
