Hi there,
So I have been looking for a way to enable WASAPI Exclusive audio mode (And not Shared mode, that allows multiple audio streams to run in a 'mix') working in any browser after the chromium flag -exclusive-mode-audio stopped working years ago.
The only way I currently know to get better audio currently is in Linux and running Pulseaudio (Linux mint has it built-in if you wish to try it with a streaming service to get better audio. If you have decent gear the difference may surprise you).
If you wish to test Exclusive audio, there are many with a quick google but you can try MusicBee compared to iTunes or Tidal desktop program (And enabling it in the audio settings) compared to Spotify if you wish to test it. It is quite a difference on good gear.
But today I compared Microsoft Edge and Opera and it seems to me that even without exclusive mode, the audio feels more rich/the frequencies tigher, or something...
Keep in mind that tonight I can't test this at crazy volumes so maybemaybe this is placebo but it certainly seems that way and someone else has also said the same thing online.
I'm curious if anyone else would like to test this out also.
But more of a concern is having to use Edge to watch all content from now on because of this.
So I ask, do you know where this difference is coming from, and further is there any plan to try and get Exclusive working, even if a toggle because non-audio sensitive people preference convenience if they can't really hear a difference.
Thanks in Advance,
Hayden.
