I am really sorry but I switched to Chrome after this desasterous development of a browser I used for over ten years. I almost needed a whole day to customize Chrome to an Opera 12 level and above.
First I would like to say what the hell were they thinking to build and release a browser without bookmarks. I mean this is so essential to every like daily water supply. I am 29 years old and I started fairly early with computers, but I cannot remember EVER seeing a browser without bookmarks. I could bearly tolerate this on the app (I temporarily switched there to chrome). Now the same crap happened on the desktop version (which was the turning point for me).
Next thing is this discover. Why would I need that? There are rss feeds, with them I can customize the information I would like to get. Sure it looks nice and I said why not, but in reality I never used it.
Why can't I use my z1 ultra theme anymore with this version. Its a minor thing, but it annoyed me.
What really sucked was the absence of a menu bar. I mean Seriously? Why remove that?
...and the last question I asked myself, why would you wanna use an Opera that is based on Chrome? I mean I can get the real thing (which actually works!). I mean it could have worked, if you had just picked out the pros of chrome and combine them with the opera features (I came to love).
Yesterday I reached the end of the (waiting) line. No significant improvements since version 15. Almos half a year I kept it on my android devices in the hope that the "NEXT" update would to the trick. But nothing.... Pure ignorance to the whishes of the users. Its the same thing Microsoft did with Windows 8, which was doomed since the first release came out.
I deleted Opera from my Android devices now. I kept it on my desktop computers, but without a shortcut, only to load sites that chrome can't handle. Basically just the roles of these two browsers reversed. I always needed CHrome, because Opera could not handle my online banking website. I admit I also keep it in the hope that the developers will turn this thing around. But the thing is when I have warmed (fully) up to chrome, why should I go back? I mean only when they screw up as massivly as you guys did. I am really sorry!
