Hello. Opera was my favourite browser as its presentation was better than the alternatives. I am just looking for some advice so why has this been moved from the forum and to where? -
Constant Not Responding locking programsOpera for Windows
Used Opera for about 25 years and liked quick launch. Two months ago I updated to v95 on Win 7. Was working alright but a week ago it started fighting with Kaspersky in its rush to get online. Slowed up both programs but eventually got there.
This week Opera was not responding and locked all other programs and did not load. The only way to get out was a hard power off shutdown. I have tried 4 clean installs even pausing Kaspersky and the result was always a failure not responding lock up. The last time I even tried putting it through WinPatrol to make it a delayed start, but locked again. After say 10 minutes it started to load and took a further 10 before one page comletely loaded in stages. It would not work and after a considerable delay and then at every few minutes started doing its own thing in an uncontrolled manner, Interception was not possible. At present it is uninstalled and my computer is much faster. My Kaspersky contract runs for a further 18 months so is not being discarded. What on earth is going on? I am sick of startedCtrl+Alt+Del and hard shutdowns disrupting my operation. Thanks

Updating to last version for Windows 7 64bitOpera for Windows
Hello
Old member from when Opera version was in single figures.
I understand there was a "Last Version "of Opera that was issued for use with Windows 7 64bit prior to withdrawing updates. I can not find this on your system or see mention of this.
I have just used the update link to go from V55 to the latest and it reads v79.0.414322.
This seems fairly low and I expected a version somewhere in the eighties or nineties.
Can you advise please.(P.S. I was also not happy with the way it imported the large number of bookmarks, missing out a large number and putingsome in other categories.)
Thanks in anticipation

Bookmarks not co-existingOpera for Windows
Opera 36 on Win XP SP3
I have been tidying up and deleting some bookmarks and copying some back from Vivaldi individually.
I find that with two bookmarks they will not exist together in the same folder or even with one of them in a sub folder. When I put the second one in it deletes the first one. It does not matter in which order they are inserted. The bookmarks in question are for Via Michelin (Maps) and the other for Speedcameras information.
Very strange, any ideas please. The sites are just being opened and made favourites in the normal manner -
RE: Opera will not load-stuck on "loading" tab...Opera for Windows
Sorry to be negative but so much for auto updates over which you have no control. There are enough problems without this. Its another reason I stayed with V12.17 and makes me liable to stay there.

RE: "A secure connection cannot be established because this site uses an unsupported protocol"Opera for Windows
Many thanks Blackbird71 that post was most informative and could account for browser variations. It looks as though we are getting somewhere and helps me understand the situation better. Unfortunately TLS1.2 did not help. It is now enabled along with SSL3 and TLS1, however when looking at details only SSL3 TLS1 is shown ,no TSL1.2. Whether I need to reinstal the same version over the top or update to the next one from old versions to get these I do not know. Checking for updates does not install them, it only wants me to accept the latest version. I disabled auto update som time ago as it was a nuisance, popped up as I was clicking a web page where it jumped up between and started downloading. It was stopped promptly.
The following is a typical entry from the Error Console with a yellow triangle and exclamation mark.
Linked-in stylesheet.

-moz-transition-property is an unknown property
Line 149:
-moz-transition-property: opacity;
Other than it relating to cascading style sheets it does not mean much so is probably irrelevent.I have been an opera user from the very early days but stopped updating like many others, when the big change was made after this version. I looked at either V15 or V18 on an Android tablet and did not like what I saw.
As I said previously bookmarks had gone and neither could you alter the names of sites in the new setup. I may look again providing the new Bookmarks facility is as good as the old one. Thanks again. -
RE: "A secure connection cannot be established because this site uses an unsupported protocol"Opera for Windows
Hello
Thanks for the replies so far. I stayed with Opera version 12.17 as I have hundreds of bookmarks and did not like the new system when they did away with bookmarks and everything had to be fitted in speed dial which was impractical for my needs. 12.17 meets all my requirements and this is the only problem I have had.
I note that the authorize.net icon/logo on the website in question trainvideodepot.com is there on the home page but when you return to that page it has disapeared which raises my suspicions. I gather now that a friend has also had this problem of a certificate warning also using Kaspersky but probably not opera. Strangely however this only happens in Opera and not with Firefox or Vivaldi if I can mention such names here. Hence my suspicions it was raised by Opera. Somehow two entries for authorize.net had been loaded into my Local Settings\Application Data\Opera folder which in User was hidden as were protected Operating System files. One was an .png file the other a .idx. These have been deleted and had not returned but in Opera the warning still arises I did not accept the certificate, rejected it and closed the browser. I now need to check these again having seen the problem arise once more. -
RE: "A secure connection cannot be established because this site uses an unsupported protocol"Opera for Windows
Hello
After looking through many screens and doing a search this seems the nearest post to my question. I am trying to access an American site but Opera brings up a security warning "Server Certificate chain incomplete. verify.authorize.net". I assume it must be Opera raising this as other browsers do not show it and Kaspersky Security applies to all. This does not show in my certificte management and I do not know anything about this company so have not accepted it as I am not sure how genuine it is. Its logo (click) button now appears as a payment merchant on the web site I have dealt with satisfactorily several times in the past over a number of years. Does anybody know of this organisation and if it is safe to accept please? -
RE: BookmarksOpera for Windows
Many thanks lando242 for your help.
I did not want to be up the creek without paddles as my total bookmarks must be similar to yours. Its a pity Opera do not make this clear in their features about the update. I have been a user for a great many years but despaired the way things looked after V12 as it was a severe loss of features for my way of operation. I hope the last stable release is as good as what you have in 30 as far as bookmarks are concerned as I do not know when they were reintroduced,
Thanks again.
