@zalex108 thanks for the tip! I read the post and comments and it seems that it is a bit risky of a tweak that might cause some serious problems so I would rather not go down that road, but it is interesting I could try doing it first with a virtual machine and see if it remains stable.

Continued Support For OSX 10.8 Mountain LionOpera for Mac
Re: Opera Mountain Lion Support
I'm running two Mac systems that have to remain on Mountain Lion and have recently moved from Firefox to Opera for my main browser and have come to really like it. It seems that users below OSX 10.9 Mavericks cannot update beyond Opera 37 and that's a bit disappointing as it has been difficult to find a great browser (not a fan of Chrome). Is there a way that I can contact Opera directly to ask if we could possibly get a compatible version or how difficult would it be and is it possible for me to edit the current version of Opera and make it compatible with my OS? I don't mind doing some coding dirty work if it is possible in order to achieve this but I would need to be pointed in the right direction. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
*Also I've already tried to edit the .plist and change the minimum version string, that trick will allow you to click the app but it crashes every time on any version higher than 37.
