@operasoftwareuser: The "Allow access to search page results" option must be enabled for the extension on the chrome://extensions page, otherwise the extension will not work as expected.

The new permission to see copied data is needed to search with images from the clipboard. You can learn more about the new feature here:

@extensions, it is removed from your developer console and the website. Extensions that have been installed on client devices will not be affected.

RE: Very long extension moderation processOpera add-ons
All my extensions got published today. \o/
It seems one of the main issues was that the build scripts did not run on Windows, but I was not contacted about the error, and with time the extensions were likely pushed down in the reviewer backlog.
The submission experience could be improved by communicating issues as they happen, and the publishing guidelines also need an update.
The guidelines currently suggest that bundled code is not accepted. That is no longer the case, we just have to provide the source code and instructions to reproduce the submitted package on Windows.

If there are others with bundled extensions, this is the guide I've sent them that finally got the exensions published, feel free to adapt it to your own needs:

@rudrick, after 10 months, I've finally got a response for one of the submissions, saying that the build scripts must work on Windows. I'm wondering why is this not specified in the submission guidelines.

I have been waiting to get a reply from reviewers for any of the submitted extensions for 9 months now. They are available for Firefox and Chrome.

@tprockow, could you share some details about the improvements you're rolling out?

RE: Very long extension moderation processOpera add-ons
I have been waiting for my extensions to be reviewed for 6 months now, two months ago I've posted on this forum, but the thread just got locked and redirected here, without addressing my concerns. I have submitted clear instructions for building the extensions, yet there are no requests for more information or any replies from reviewers.
I can't begin to express how disheartening this experience is, and it makes me regret my decision to submit my work to Opera. I've spent considerable time debugging the extensions and making them compatible with this browser, then preparing the listings for submission. All to not even get a reply.
I'd advise developers to refrain from doing business with Opera when it comes to browser extensions.

Opera extensions waiting to be reviewed for more than 4 monthsOpera add-ons
I have submitted 3 of my extensions during September 2017, but none of them has been reviewed or received a reply.
To compare it with other platforms, during the same time period one of the extensions gained 20k Firefox users and it has become a featured add-on.
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/search_by_image/I'm submitting again the latest versions for review, in a hope to get a response in a meaningful time frame.
