My previous thread got closed, so I can't just reply there.
I'm really saddened that I'm order to be able to use bookmarks that will sync with my mobile browser, Opera requires that encryption be turned off. Additionally, this isn't documented in the help despite being a known issue.
I had been in love with Opera as my default browser since the 90s. When the switch from Presto to WebKit/Blink occurred, bookmarking was lost in favor of a feature called Stash which we are initially told was the future if bookmarking. Then bookmarks we being worked on but it took years to implement this basic feature included in every modern browser, and even longer to get it to sync with mobile. Alas bookmarks are still not fully implemented on mobile as the user must disable encryption in order to get them to copy down from the server.
In the meantime while waiting for bookmarks, I was begrudgingly forced to use another browser for the past 4 years. But my loyalty to Opera made me want to try again. Now I realize my loyalty had been misplaced in the current browser called Opera.
That loyalty belongs with Vivaldi, which I've just learned is created by the cofounder and former CEO of Opera. Until Opera is able to fully support bookmarks, I just can't use it as my default browser. The amount of time I've wasted trying to make this work feels insulting and depressing. I've loved this browser called Opera for so long, and have been so happy to watch it grow.
Please, update your help documentation of your intention is to not support encryption on the mobile device. Don't make another use waste as much time as I have trying to figure this out.
Sadly,
