Perfect. I probably should have had the courage to try that. I can vouch for it working perfectly for me. Many thanks, Chris

Get opera to use old snap current on new computer (Kubuntu)Opera for Linux
My previous kubuntu installation died but I had a backup of ~/snap/opera I hoped that I could install opera from snap and then rename the new ~/snap/opera to ~/shap/opera.old and copy the old ~/snap/opera into the ~/snap/ on the rebuilt system but every time I start opera it creates a new current logical link not to the old folder (395) but to 406 and if delete that logical link and create a new one to 395 opera replaces that when it launches and creates a new logical link to 406. Is there a way that I can rescue my old opera installation and persuade opera not to do this?!
TIA,
Chris

RE: Extension requires additional authorisationsOpera for Linux
@kohlhaas
I too have been getting this for at least a month now. I have cut the few extensions down to BitWarden and the Opera ad blocker and wallet both of which I prefer to have disabled. Setting them to enabled makes no difference. Similarly, setting the Zotero extension to disabled doesn't remove this relentless prompt. Would be nice to have this fixed!
